Bonaire, 9/01

Photos are below. This was a very strange trip from many different perspectives. The people we had with us were great, during the trying times surrounding the horrible events of 9/11/01. We had been scheduled to go home the next day. Obviously, that was not to pass. The people of Bonaire took excellent care of us, finding us rooms, cutting the hotel and diving rates, and flying American flags. It was heartwarming support for strangers who had become a part of the world's family, all in a few hours, as the result of an event meant to tear us apart rather than bring us together. Our thoughts are with everyone touched by this event, and especially the familes of the victims.
